How do I change server or use Smart Connect?

You can pick a country manually, or let Smart Connect pick the best server for you.

Manual selection

  1. Open the app
  2. Tap the country/server selector (top of the main screen)
  3. Pick a country from the list
  4. Tap Connect

The list shows all available locations. Tapping a country immediately switches the active connection to that server (or connects if you weren't connected).

Smart Connect (Best Server)

Smart Connect picks the server with the best score, calculated from:

  • Latency to your device (ping)
  • Current server load
  • Historical reliability for your account

How to use it:

  • Tap Smart Connect / Best Server at the top of the server list
  • Or, if a server fails twice in a row in the same country, the app shows a Smart Connect banner suggesting a switch

Smart Connect avoids servers that recently failed for you — fully blocked for 10 minutes, then with a softening penalty for up to 6 hours.

When to switch server

  • Current server feels slow → try a closer one or use Smart Connect
  • Specific service blocks the IP → try a server in a different country
  • Server keeps failing → use Smart Connect to skip the bad ones

Tips

  • Closer is usually faster, but a slightly more distant server with low load can beat a closer one that's overloaded
  • If you need a specific country (for streaming or local sites), Smart Connect won't override your choice — pick manually
  • Switching server while connected reconnects through the new one — there's a brief drop in between
